Laura Daetz

During a career spanning more than twenty-five years, Laura held executive administrative positions for five of America’s largest commercial real estate companies and two consulting organizations, founded her own consulting firm, and co-founded the Akwaaba Foundation.

Laura has made numerous presentations for national and regional professional conferences from coast to coast. She has authored several articles in industry publications, and created the first newsletter of its type for human resource and risk management professionals in commercial real estate (Strategic Advantage: Straight Talk for Commercial Real Estate Executives).

Laura’s training includes an undergraduate degree in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University, professional certifications (Senior Professional in Human Resources; Myers Briggs Type Indicator; Temperament Research Institute methodology; Prospector® 360º Executive Evaluation; and Skillscope® 360º Evaluation), and post-graduate studies in risk management, all of which give her a rare blend of skills.

Laura has worked extensively with abused and abandoned foster children through CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates). She has served battered women through The Sheepfold, provided emotional comfort to cancer patients at M.D. Anderson Hospital, and worked side by side with the Kikuyu people on irrigation and housing projects in Kenya. Laura has served as a construction volunteer at Habitat for Humanity, and is a past board member for her university alumni association. She has helped provide food, clothing, medicine, and education for numerous under privileged children in Chile, India, Zambia, Kenya, and Guatemala for nearly twenty years.
